Swanscombe and Greenhithe Residents Association By Residents - For Residents

We’re Watching You.....

The Residents Association through Swanscombe and Greenhithe Town Council has joined forces with environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy in a bid to reduce dog fouling in key problem areas of the town. Feedback from residents has told us that dog fouling is an issue that they would like to see addressed.

The campaign sets its sights on irresponsible dog owners, with recent research showing that dog walkers are more responsible, and pick up after their dogs, when they think that they are being watched. The communtity through the Town Council has joined the Keep Britain Tidy “We’re watching you” dog fouling campaign.
The campaign utilises innovative glow-in-the-dark signage which the council has installed in parks and close to children’s play areas.

The 'We're Watching You' signs are visible after dark. Using  cutting-edge materials, the signs 'charge up' during the day and glow-in-the-dark at night.
The campaign uses posters based on research and has been rigorously tested and achieving an average 46% reduction in dog fouling.

Keep Britain Tidy's research shows dog fouling is a key issue resulting in a high volume of complaints from residents.
